Applied on a whim and within a day got a call for an interview. Sat down with the CEO and the Lead Systems Administrator and had a good conversation. We talked about personal things first and they really wanted to know about who I was.
Then we got talking about the company and the system. They had a system outage during the interview and the CEO had to leave to go help someone out.
I was told they would be in contact. About 2 weeks went by and they told me I was their final choice and they would be sending me an offer. I told them what my salary was now, and what my salary expectation was. They offered me more than I expected, so I took the job. I didn't do a drug test, but a background test was performed.
Another week went by and I went into meet the CFO as he likes to approve who they hire. (Complicated reasoning, but the company is owned by an investment group)
Started on a Thursday.
