Pretty bad. That about sums it up. After making a two and a half minute phone speech regarding why I would be a good fit for the company, they called me in for an interview about two days later. I went in with a good attitude, well dressed, a good resume, and ready to answer anything they asked me. The office has a nice comfy and funky San Francisco vibe to it. I spoke to the National Sales Manager first who was a pleasant enough guy at the start, simply asked about my sales background, and then had me speak to two of the Regional Managers. That's when it went downhill.
To make a long story short, they asked questions that they would not let me finish, such as my knowledge of their company, which I had done researched both online and with other real estate agents for their perspectives. It's hard to say what their criteria is because I have four years of inside and outside sales experience as well as marketing and they said I had little to no applicable experience. The worst is that they made a point to contact my recruiter and say that I was clueless and why they would recommend an applicant like me. It was to the point of slanderous, claiming I said things that never came up, such as my personal life (that one is always a big no-no in my book).
Advice to future candidates - I won't say avoid LoopNet like the plague, but be prepared to be cross examined and possibly belittled. It seems that they only want applicants who devote their present and future professional careers to inside sales, as well as applicants who are younger due to the stereotype of them falling for the "glamor" of commission sales jobs. I hope this helps other applicants in my position.

It is a long process and I'm unsure if it is the same process after the current merger. From my experience, I had a phone interview with the human resource manager. I then had to leave a "sale pitch" voicemail stating why I should get the job. After I "passed" the test, I had a phone interview with one of the head sales manager. I then had a long day filled with back to back interviews with two of the three head managers in-charge of the sales team as well as 6 regional managers (2 at a time).

One of the regional managers that I interviewed with made me sell her the pencil she was holding. That was definitely unexpected. Fun, but unexpected.

There was a recruiting event. It was a group interviewing process for 10 qualified candidates without experience. We had to do an interview and an impromptu sales pitch. Then there was a second round of more intense interviews.

Why do you think you can do this without any experience?
