I interview with the Lakers two times for the same role. In the spring, a person departing the role as the Director, Human Resources interviewed me for an hour to backfill them. I got a rejection three weeks later saying that despite my sports media experience I was not being considered since I didn’t have Basketball experience (this wasn’t on the job description). Months later, the a Manager of HR messaged me about the role (I didn’t send in a new application) and we spoke for an hour about my experience. I was told that I would get feedback within 3 days, I reached out after a week of having not heard anything, I noted that the hiring manager they mentioned had looked at my LinkedIn profile a day after the interview and assumed the lack of outreach meant I wasn’t bearing considered. Four days later the Manager, HR reached out with an email saying there was a delay and that were considering other people for the role. I called out how I had been interviewed stir the same role for an hour each two times within 4 months, and that my time was wasted if they weren’t serious about my candidacy.
