Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). O processo levou 2 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela Lucid Software (South Jordan, UT) em fev. de 2017
Entrevista
The recruiter reached out to me through my LinkedIn profile. The first round was a phone-screen with the recruiter that lasted about 30mins. This was very generic - my background, interests, previous experiences etc. It became a little uncomfortable at the end when the recruiter asked me my salary expectations more than twice even though I declined to discuss them at that point. Also asked me very specifically about what other places I'm interviewing at, what stages are the interviews at and when will I hear back from them. I was not at all comfortable discussing that with the recruiter.
She then set up a 1hr technical interview with their UX lead/manager. Again there was a lot of miscommunication here, interview scheduled on a day that recruiter later realized was a holiday. Then asked to reschedule later that week. But the interviewer apparently wasn't notified, so I got an unexpected call on the cancelled date, and I politely informed of the miscommunication. But finally the interview happened later that week.
It was a more formal portfolio walk-through, so I had prepared a nice PPT for that. It was one of the most fun interviews I've had! The interviewer was extremely engaged and interested in everything I was presenting. He would stop me at certain points and ask specific questions about my design decisions or research methods. We spent almost 50 mins discussing one project, but it was very thorough.
I really thought the interview went well, but I heard back a few days later that I hadn't made it to the next round.

Pergunta 1
Describe a project where you've dealt with a very complex design problem.
Based on what I heard from others that are familiar with Lucid Software, there is a high attrition rate at the company. If true, I'm not sure what the specific reason(s) are but the conversation I had with a recruiter in the initial round made it clear they didn't have anything concrete for the job I was interviewing for. They were not able to provide a targeted start date, a budget for the salary, or any specifics about the team or the need they were looking to fill. It was apparent that they were just collecting potential candidates for a future need. While this may be normal practice, it's a red flag since they not only lack transparency but they take advantage of candidates' time by making it appear there is an actual role to be filled rather than being upfront.

Tell me about yourself. Are you familiar with Lucid? What am I looking for in a first role? When are you available to start? Are you in the final stages of interviewing with any other companies? Need a visa? Salary expectations?

I interviewed through to the 2nd stage - portfolio presentation. I declined to go further. I was uninspired by the interviewers and their perspective, and how inside the box they where, but I declined because I didn't get any sense they had any DEI or gender awareness. I sensed there are likely gender issues at the company based on my interview.

The interviewer asked the same question several times
1. Phone call with recruiter
2. Panel interview broken into 2 parts. First part is with higher level executives. Second part is with team members you will be working with.
Overall a streamlined process and I enjoyed talking with the people.
