I interviewed for the QA Specialist position in October 2018. I applied online, and a few days later I was sent a short QA exercise via Google Docs, which consisted of a brief questionnaire as well as a QA exercise, asking me how I would test a feature on their website.
Following that submission, I was set up for a call with one of their technical recruiters. I answered a number of questions and also talked about what I knew about the company. She was very pleasant to speak to and she put me through to an onsite interview.
When I came onsite, I was greeted and brought to the interview room where I waited for the two people from the team I'd be meeting with.
And then it sort of went downhill from there.
The onsite, in-person interview was straight up technical. One of the interviewers introduced herself to me and the other interviewer walked into the room, made no eye contact, and made no attempt at even acknowledging I was in the room. I had actually met this person prior so it wasn't our first meeting, though his behavior was definitely weird.
They asked me straight-up technical questions regarding QA and how I would test things, to gauge how my thought process worked. I answered their questions, but there was absolutely no warmth or rapport building built into them at all. They asked me nothing about me at all and made no attempt to get to know me as a person. I totally get how time-consuming and boring interviewing different people for roles can be (I've interviewed people myself), but I don't think that's an excuse to give off that impression.
Overall, I had the sense that them taking the time to interview me was a nuisance in their day (specifically with the person I'm referring to above). On another note he informed me towards the end of our time together that he already had someone about to start and that they didn't have the funding/opening for this role until Feb/Mar 2019. Basically I walked out having felt that I wasted my time, not that I even wanted the job anyway.
