Dear Candidate,
Thank you for giving feedback about the interview process, however, as we can notice in your review that you appeared for an interview in March 2018 and posted the present feedback after 21 months (almost 2 years). We are not sure about the reason behind posting such delayed feedback. That said, it is imperative to state that we are a dynamic and progressive organization. We welcome constructive feedback from candidates, current and former employees through online and offline medium. We believe it helps us to fine-tune and evolve our practices and processes. Please do know a lot has changed since you last appeared for an interview.
As regards your feedback that HR rounds is a mere “formality” and technical round is a “joke”, we feel it is not justified and inapposite to our practices. We take great pride in our employees especially the senior members of the team and how they conduct the day-to-day affairs in the company including conducting interviews. Especially, the interviews/recruitment process for the creative team is different from a technical one. For instance, showing our company’s demo reel to a candidate who is being considered for a creative position. The idea may be to give insight and clarity into what is expected out of the position and our organisation’s quality standards. Similarly, expecting a candidate to provide details about their previous work experience and portfolio of work is to understand and assess the capabilities and competence of the particular candidate.
Let us explain that being interviewed once and getting a job offer is a thing of the past. Like many companies, at Merkur Gaming India, we have an involved interview process starting with screening interviews, which often take place on the phone, followed by in-person interviews, second interviews, and even third interviews. Our one-on-one interviews give an insight about an applicant’s experience and skills, work history, availability, and the qualifications the company is seeking in the optimal candidate for the job. We evaluate you for your technical knowledge, as well as your cultural fit in the company. Our process is open and transparent. We have a strong and positive workplace culture. The key is finding people that are going to contribute, and build on our company culture.
Please bear in mind that the interview process is a precursor to a long-term association with the chosen candidate for the job, thus, requiring us to be circumspect and thorough.
With that said, thank you for showing your interest in working with us and we wish you success in your future endeavors.
