At the end of the first-round interview, I was told that my information would be sent to the hiring manager for onboarding. I was also told to expect an email within a few days to provide my part of the information. By the end of the following week, I had still not received any follow-up. Instead, I received an automated rejection email. Being told over the phone that I would be hired and then receiving a rejection without explanation was disappointing. I reached out to the interviewer for clarification, and during a short call, I was told they decided to move forward with someone who had slightly more experience. From my perspective, the process felt inconsistent, lacking transparency, and unprofessional. If this is how potential interns are treated, especially those who might be considered for full-time roles, it raises serious questions about the company’s communication, integrity and professionalism. Internships are meant to be meaningful and fair experiences where students can learn, contribute, and build relationships. This process left me feeling misled and unsupported. Overall, this experience makes me question how candidates and employees are treated once hired. Clear communication and honesty are basic expectations, and from my perspective, these were not met.
