Lumen uses HireView which is an AI tool to select candidates. Initially you are asked to complete a virtual interview and play games. However, there's a lack of transparency regarding this process. The solo virtual interview process includes practice questions that the interviewer can practice over and over again. There's a note indicating that the practice questions are not being saved during the interview, so the candidate can practice over and over again. Be aware that the practice interviews are indeed being used. The feedback portion that the AI tool sends after the interview, indicated that the responses provided during the practice sessions were indeed considered and analyzed during the AI assessment. Additionally, you are required to play three games. Pay close attention as the camera and microphone keep recording and analyzing your body language and attitude displayed, and anything that you might have said while playing these games. Because it is an AI triggered tool, if you move your attention to anything else other than the game (a cat, a dog, or a drink of coffee), the game will stop abruptly. There are 'pauses' that you are allowed to take in between games. In the meantime the camera and microphone are still on. So be aware of that. I am considering this a negative experience because of the lack of transparency of not alerting the candidate that the practice questions were going to be analyzed as well (the feedback clearly indicated that they were analyzed). The interview might appear 'easy' however, the candidate will have to be able to bypass the AI tool bias. Which unless you are a savvy AI engineer, it does come with a certain degree of difficulty. Keywords, body language, lighting, etc., you name it. AI is looking for something specific.
