Don’t waste your time interviewing with them!
In the initial rounds, they gave the impression that they had a strong compensation band and that my expectations were within range. I asked them twice this is my minimum expectation, is that okay? Based on that, I went through multiple interview rounds and aced them.
Only after everything was done, HR came back saying their maximum budget was much lower than what was discussed earlier. This was not negotiation. This was a bait-and-switch.
Honestly, this felt like a scam and showed the behaviour of a typical LALA company with no respect for candidates, their time, or basic hiring transparency.
If they already knew their real budget, they should have said it upfront instead of wasting people’s time.
Be careful. Get the compensation range in writing before interviewing here, otherwise you may end up wasting your time like I did.
Interview focused on system design rather than algorithms. Low-level design (LLD) question based on chess system—likely covering pieces, moves, board state, rules handling. High-level design (HLD) question based on Uber—expected architecture for ride matching, scalability, real-time tracking, etc.
No data structures and algorithms (DSA) questions asked, which aligns with ~4 years experience where design depth matters more than coding puzzles.

Entrevista
I applied for an Operations/Admin role and was informed that my application was being moved forward. I then had a short video call with a People Partner on a Saturday, which was professional and went well.
However, after the interview, there was no follow-up or update provided, even after a polite follow-up email. Sharing this experience so candidates are aware and can manage expectations around communication and closure.
