Initial screener call. Afterwards went silent for two weeks. Then got asked to go in to meet hiring manager. Went in to the Herndon location. They have floors in two buildings. One seems client attractive, the other, where finance and pricing is seems outdated, dark, and for some strange reason move-out ready. It is very dark there, as in the florescent bulbs were taken out. When I went in, the workers seemed tired and hidden away, somewhat disheveled and chaotic. Which for me would be good because it didn't seem that you just sat around waiting for work. Could be a turn off for others because of appearance.
Sat in with the manager, seemed bright and focused, took and hour to discuss the role, but it was cloudy since there were some conflicting information, at times it seemed they wanted more creative thinking and at other times just someone to plug in #s.
Awkwardly, thrown in for the next manager for interview. Seemed they had multiple positions to fill but not sure how to fit in the puzzles. Didn't know ahead of time and I felt crappy to regurgitate the same information, questions, and answers only to find out that the difference of job is really years of experience, which is a turn off and a red flag.
Then thrown in for a quick talk with the director.
One of the managers was really bright and open to ideas, the other was cocky and more closed minded, but smart nevertheless. However the feeling I got was that they had not thought out the positions really well.
In the end, they went with a different candidate.
