My interview process with MEDA started with a brief HR interview focused on cultural fit. A week later, I was given a very challenging 1-hour assignment that required creating a video reel, four social media copies, and an image post with graphics—all based on a press release provided on the spot. These three separate tasks required much more time than what was provided. To make it more difficult, the footage wasn’t color-corrected, so I had to handle that within the same hour. After a standard interview with two other members of the MEDA team (what I was told would be the last step), I was unexpectedly asked to meet with a senior director, where I was told they were deciding between me and another candidate. This set a slightly awkward tone for the rest of the interview. I was supposed to hear back by the end of that week but had to follow up more than a week later, only to find out I wasn’t selected. Although I respect their decision to go with someone who may have been a better fit, I would have appreciated a little more respect for my time and work.
