      Candidatura

Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 3 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela MITRE (Huntsville, AL) em abr. de 2022

      Entrevista

3 out of 4 interviewers were late or did not show up to the interview. It was a TOXIC interview and most likely a TOXIC company; please continue reading. I was given ambiguous instructions for the presentation but gave it anyway. In my experience, companies that require these types of presentations are typically not healthy. Afterwards there were two questioning panels. The interviewers asked me a variety of questions and were openly disappointed with my answers. My answers were detailed and showed that I had technical depth. Yet they tried to put me down from the start to establish a hierarchy. An answer that is not exactly "correct" to an interviewer's limited (just like everyone's) knowledge can still indicate strong technical ability. Most healthy interviewers see this and then try to get you to talk more about the areas of strength to see how deep that goes. After I showed that I was not happy and I mentioned that I was perhaps not a good fit for such a position, the interviewer that had just put me down then began complimenting me. Basically they were bluffing and I called their bluff. So TOXIC. I'm good at what I do so, knowing my value, I took the high road, finished the interview, and soft nexted. If you want to be part of a constant power-play type environment where everyone is clearly insecure, seems like the place. In general, passive aggressiveness on the first meeting is a bad sign. A healthy work relationship should start right from the beginning. At one point an interviewer even made negative remarks about another interviewer in their absence. HUGE RED FLAG. The irony is that the interviewers mentioned MITRE to be an academia-like place. Academia is about teaching each other and growing together not putting people down for not having the exact same experience as you. Truly exceptional people are humble and kind. Another serious RED FLAG was that I was asked more than once to talk about an invention I have that has a patent pending. I've never had an employer ask about that, let alone twice and then get visibly disappointed that I did not want to discuss it in more detail than I had. I doubt that healthy boundaries will be respected at this company. There were more red flags I can mention but if you've read this far, just avoid this company and find one that will empower you instead of beat you down. Don't be sold on marketing about personal growth and what not, lots of companies can actually offer that. You spend most of your lifespan at your job so pick a place that will not leave you tired, stressed, and always in a state of conflict. This kind of toxicity is contagious

      Perguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pergunta 1

Explain how you would you test an elevator? (Real original I know) Explain how a PC boots. Explain a NOP sled. Explain how you would hack a device that you had access to. How would you go about making a flashlight tamper-proof?
