Personal 1 on 1 conversation about goals and opportunity cost of hiring. the interviewer didnt want to hear buzz words and hear what i thought they wanted. instead they intended to hire someone who held a respect for themselves and the jobs that they preform. A true interview, not just a formality. the beginning of a career, not just another job

I am a retail manager working at a store that is about to go out of business due to COVID. A customer came into my job asking me if I had found anything yet and I told her no. She gave me her business card saying that she had her own company and I asked her did I need to have any experience and she said “no, I have someone who has worked for me for 8 years and they came from T.J. Maxx.” I sent over my resume and her husband immediately invited me out for a interview. But when I got to the interview I am basically told that I’m not qualified for the job. Saying things like you only have retail experience... yes I’m aware. The whole point of a resume is to make sure that someone is qualified for a position before you invite them to a interview. Not only was it a waste of their time but it was a waste of mine.

I was contacted by Lori to come in for an interview and interviewed with her and then met the President Les who said I was trashy for having a nose piercing and assumed I had tattoos and said he would never hire someone with those. He said he was offended I would even show up for an interview with a nose ring in and told me to leave. Was completely unprofessional!
