Contacted by email a day after submitting resume. Scheduled for an on-site interview the same week. Followed by a more in-depth one. Really nice people and decent working environment but I never see anyone talk to each other--they just work in their spaces. Interview is behavioral but they will be very exhaustive in their questions even to the minor details in your resume.
Everything went well and I was offered the position. I was offered another position with a higher salary so I negotiated. Rather than saying no they can't match the offer, they ended up pulling the offer even though I expressively let them know that I would make a decision the next day. What bothers me is they did not stand by their words. The hiring process towards the end is really unprofessional and difficult to deal with, which led me to believe that their decision-making, at least in the hiring process, was unilateral and not decided among the team. They also weren't honest with me and I won't go into details. Subsequent emails to them have been ignored. What gives?
Overall impression of the company is that it has promise. But behind the facade of a "Start-up" type environment is also a very traditional and hereditary management/hiring process. They like to promote from within and I think that's true too.
