Entrevista
The recruiter found my resume from a job search database. Recruiter contacted me and while he didn't want to disclosure his client or much of the job description that he was recruiting for, he did provide adequate business reasons and offered to provide information about his company and their management style. After the initial phone screen, we set up a an interview time for me to meet with him and the account manager. The account manager's job is to understand the job description in detail and the client's needs as well as source the right candiate for the position.
The account manager spent a good deal of time trying to impress me with his work at Microsoft and his knowledge of Business Intelligence. He asked me quesitons about my experience, reviewing my resume to ask pertinent questions. The activities of the interview were standard and expected however, the performance on the activities was disappointing.
He didn't do much to learn about my skills and experience in order to find out what I could offer his clients now or for potential positions. There was a lot of discussion about salary mismatch which seemed to be premature without having a job description to apply to. I left the interview thinking that the consultancy firm was not a good match since they seem concerned with filling only existing requisitions and not looking for staff for the long term or future projects.
