HR conducted a screening call. Straight forward and positive. Shortly after I had a zoom video meeting with the hiring manager. He asked me about my career. I explained how I rose to where I am today via accomplishments, earning promotions while helping the companies I worked for exceed their goals. He concluded the call saying it was clear I helped my own career but not how I helped the companies I was with. Frankly I felt if I was a male he wouldn’t have stated that. I have never received such a remark before. It’s okay to highlight your accomplishments as long as you explain how it’s relevant to the role in my opinion. He signaled to being a negative manager and more.
