Two phone calls were made — one by the assistant hiring manager and one by the hiring manager himself. An online interview was then scheduled. During the interview, three individuals were present. Surprisingly, they did not ask any questions about my expertise or experience. Instead, they focused on very basic topics such as definitions and elementary aspects of traffic impact assessments. I believe this is not an appropriate approach for evaluating candidates for a mid-senior level position. Job seekers at this level are neither students nor entry-level applicants. The interview should focus on the candidate's relevant experience, skills, and professional capabilities.
