Everyone I spoke to throughout the process was warm, engaged, and impressive. The culture came across as positive and the people were a real highlight.
However, the process itself was poorly managed. Communication between rounds was inconsistent and I had to chase for updates on multiple occasions. At no point was the full structure of the process made clear. Each interview was conducted by a different person and nobody could tell me how many stages remained. In total there were six interviews plus a task, which is excessive for this type of role and places a significant burden on candidates.
After six interviews, a completed task, and references being requested, I was told there was a hiring pause... It became clear that internally the company had realised they were looking for a different role entirely after I saw a different posting on LinkedIn. Felt a bit like I was being strung along until they came to that conclusion.
The people at Manychat are clearly talented, and the culture feels genuine. It would be nice if that kindness and culture trickled down to the recruitment process!
