Don't waste your time by interviewing with Marqeta! They are just interviewing candidates to get their employees some interview experience! Interview process includes a phone screen (LC -easy/medium) and 4 hours of Onsite. The onsite includes 1 behavioral, 1 coding, 1 design and 1 product round . I solved the design question and the follow up questions which include adding more features and finding a bug in the question. The interviewer was happy with my answers and for the bug fix. Coding question was a very common LC question which I solved 100 %, but the dumb interviewer didn't think so. The behavioral interview was OK. But the last round with a product manager was a joke! It was another behavioral interview with minor focus on product. I got a call from the recruiter 2 days later asking for the feedback regarding interview process! WTF! When asked about the next steps repeatedly, he told that it was a reject as the interview feedback didn't match senior level expectations! Seriously! If solving the design question and all the follow up questions completely doesn't qualify a candidate for a senior level engineer, what else does?? Please please don't waste candidates time. Get a life!

The interview process was well structured. Each and every step was outlined perfectly in the introduction and everything followed a definite timeline. I really appreciate the clarity and the standards they set during the initial stages of the interview.

Entrevista
Recruiter call, followed by a screen share coding round and a Hiring manager interview.( interviewers were really friendly and giving the pointers on the approach ).
Recruiter reached out to schedule 3 more rounds ( 2 behavioural 45 mins each ) and a system design ( screen share - Lucid chart ).
Overall process took 2.5 weeks and the recruiter gives immediate feedback after each round ( without wasting much time). It was a very smooth process.

Entrevista
I had a job interview with Marqeta, and after talking to the recruiter, I was invited to the next stage, which was an online coding test. I was asked to design an LRU cache, which I did completely and tested as well.
The next day, I received a rejection letter with reasons that were not convincing at all. I felt that the decisions were very subjective and not based on clear principles and rules.
I feel like I wasted my energy and time.
