Short Zoom with a recruiter. She was friendly and warm and we had a great conversation. She wanted to move me to the next step and had me connect with a coordinator to schedule that. The next step was talking to the hiring manager, who wasn't available for 2 weeks. As I discussed with the recruiter, I was in the final stages with other companies and needed to move quickly, so I was surprised at the disconnect between understanding where I was at and a 2-week wait just for the next step. I replied to the email saying the proposed date/time would be fine, but that I didn't know if I would still be available in 2 weeks, the recruiter decided to abruptly remove me from consideration. I'm not mad about that as I would never work for a company that moved that slowly in 2022. Imagine all the red tape and outdated processes on the inside! But what shocked me is that a seemingly friendly and professional recruiting expert would miss such an obvious disconnect, waste my time, and then rather unprofessionally cut me out. Definitely glad to not be wasting more time with this company, but still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I would never consider them again in the future.
