Entrevista
I applied online, and heard back a few days later. After a Skype call with the CEO (everyone works remotely), I was fortunate enough to meet in-person with one of their developers to perform a "skills interview". The skills interview did not involve any written tests or arbitrary metrics, but rather an honest evaluation of how I work. Questions were mostly open-ended.
After that, I had a "culture fit" interview with other members of the team I would be joining, and ultimately performed a small test project (about 3 hours total spread over a couple days). The culture fit interview was jovial and left me feeling excited to work with the team. Questions revolved around how I like to work and what sort of team I prefer. The test project was a great way to experience how I would be interacting with everyone on a day-to-day basis.
All interview sessions were conversational and informative. Everyone was very willing to talk about their own personal experiences and provide honest feedback. This was a major career change for me, so I was very happy that they took the time to get to know me and make sure that I'd be happy in my position.
Final salary negotiations were pleasant and operations was very forthcoming with information on what benefits and compensation I would receive.
