Overall interview process experience was very good. Interviewers were very nice and patient when you ask questions, gave answers to the point very precisely in each interview rounds. Every round I felt more like a conversation instead of interview. Interview process was in 4 steps : 1. Call with Recruiter It was zoom meeting interview where recruiter explained me about company, position and complete interview process in very detail. Also asked questions regarding my work experience and expectations and presented my profile to Mercatus. Next day got invitation for interview with Director of Engineering. 2. Interview with Director of Engineering It was zoom meeting interview. Interviewer asked me about my work experience, skills. It was more like a conversation related to my thinking/planning for my career. In end of interview answered my questions about company and companies future goals. Interviewer gave answers in very detail for all my questions answer. Next day got invitation for 1st Technical Interview. 3. 1st Technical Interview - with one of team member It was zoom meeting interview with screen sharing. It was 45 minutes interview and started with a conversation about my experience. After that interviewer asked me to complete a program within 20 minutes of time period. I was able to complete the program successfully before time. Next day got invitation for 2nd technical interview. 4. 2nd Technical Interview - with Team Lead It was zoom meeting interview with screen sharing. It was 1 hour and 15 minutes interview. This interview was like working on a project within the team environment and discussing on the project. Interviewer gave me a small project and asked me to design database schema (in an editor/document) according to the project requirements. Once I was done with it, interviewer asked me to list down different REST API end-points with parameters and methods. In between, interviewer asked me questions like why I added few columns in database tables, how to handle errors in my design, etc. Next day got call from recruiter with an offer.

It was efficient and well organized. The follow up process was quick and very reliable. The use of a live coding session was effective because it gave me a better understanding of what skill sets the employer was looking for.
