Fiz uma entrevista na empresa MetTel (New York, NY).
Entrevista
The process consisted of an initial screening followed by a conversation with the hiring manager and a team member. The job description and the actual role discussed were not well aligned, and expectations for the position were not clearly defined during the interviews. Much of the conversation focused on exploratory questions rather than a structured evaluation of product skills or responsibilities. Communication after the interview was minimal, and the role was reposted shortly afterward. Overall, the process felt informal and unstructured, with limited clarity about the real needs of the position.

They focused less on product‑specific questions and more on probing whether I could operate as a broad, hands‑on problem‑solver across many unrelated areas. The conversation centered on whether I could step into a very operational, jack‑of‑all‑trades role that didn’t match the product responsibilities described in the job posting. It became clear they were testing for a generalist firefighter profile rather than a structured product manager role.

I knew I was in trouble when they rescheduled at the last minute and then the person I was going to talk to, as well as anyone else was also not available on the second date. Spoke to an administrative person who did not even know what the job entailed.

Did I know that they expected people to work hard?

The interview process was a sham! I applied through college and was dealing directly with the Project Director. After a brief discussion in college career fair, I was asked to come to an in person interview. The office is located in an incredible location! Once you reach the office, you are required to fill a sheet that resembles a job application. They also have a questionnaire for fit ( MBTI testing). I later met the Project Director again and the interview went great! I was told to be the perfect fit! I even got a tour of the office!
When asked about the next few steps, the Project Director had no clue and decided to take me to the HR Business Partner who did not know that there was an interview scheduled! She did not even have a look at my resume that was apparently previously mailed to her! I was told by HR that they will get back to me within a week. As I left the place, I was again told by Project Director that I was the perfect fit and the company could not ask for more!
A week later I got a reject mail to my utter shock! When I tried contacting the HR/ Project Director, I received no reply!
There is no professionalism in the HR process. Job search is a stressful process, this company raises the hope of an individual during the interview process to only crush them with no explanation. Job interviews are not a game but the company plays with the hopes and dreams of interviewees.
