Entrevista
I applied on their corporate website and got an email a couple weeks later from their HR wanting to set up an interview. Set it up for the next day. The lady calls me and right off the bat says the position I applied for has been removed. I asked why was she calling me then? She said because we like to see if there are other positions you might be a fit for. I asked her what other positions and she couldn't answer me. But, my bad for continuing the conversation. She the asks me the generic question and tells me that she will send my info to the district manager and then he/she will call me for another interview... seems reasonable. While on the phone with her she says she just emailed me the "job responsibilities" and I immediately opened the email and on reading it it seemed to be odd that there was a link too. I opened the link and it was from a 3rd party website with the standard store manager duties listed. I also had the michaels career screen up on my computer and the job responsibilities on their website was certainly a bit different. RED FLAG! When I asked her about it she side stepped and said oh we have a position for you in Odessa TX would you be interested? Odessa is 4.5hrs away from me and I told her that it wouldn't work for me.She then apologizes and says oh then how about North Arlington? I said yes that is within reasonable driving distance . She then retracts her statement and says she doesn't have the address for that store ?????? Now, please know that I was certainly doubtful of her being truly from Michaels even though the email was from Michaels also, there was what appears to be a cell number on the email which is what she called me from. When I tried to research that number( yes we all know that there are paid services to find such info on the web for anyone wanting to know) I could not find it anywhere. One thing that stuck with me is that when I asked her if the HR office was in Irving she said no I'm calling from Canada!!!! I called 4 times to corporate to let them know about this because I felt this could be a fraudulent thing, I have been put on hold for more than 30 minutes each time and not been directed to their HR even though I made it clear this was just to let them know that there is something fishy about this and to please look into it. Absolutely very very unprofessional of Michaels customer service for not directing my call to the correct department to address this. This is a serious thing and they simply don't seem to care . I certainly will not be recommending this company period.

Very basic process when it comes to the hiring process. Step one recruiter and a phone screen. Step two was with the District Manager with store visit,
Step 3 offer. Total process was 2 weeks.

Interview was reasonable. Met with market manager then a peer interview with another store manager. Market manager asked about my knowledge of the company and its core values. Asked situational questions and about experience leading teams.

Entrevista
It was very quick, and had several portions to the interview including an amplitude test. Met with the district supervisor for a store visit.Not sure what other information they wanted.. Only received a generated email with the reply. I imagine they continued with other applicants within the company
