Following a one-hour interview, where both parties expressed satisfaction with the potential contributions, I willingly accepted their proposed salary adjustment of approximately 12% lower. Subsequently, I received and promptly accepted the offer, returning a signed contract. However, to my dismay, the following day, I was informed that upper management had rejected my candidacy, as they were seeking a candidate for a senior role.
