Process Involved: The recruiter contacted me - for initial screening. Then one on one with Hiring manager. Then had to prepare a presentation. The presentation had to have my portfolio, a case study that was presented, a project of mine and why milgard. I had to virtually present for a team of 8-10 for an hour, this video call included HR and hiring manager. Few questions related to my background. After this i had 4 hour interview with different team member. This was an interview with few technical question and more about my background and projects and how i work in a team. Pretty easy conversation, They even let me know my presentation was extremely interesting. Couple of days later i had another interview with hiring manager and his boss. The HR emails me the previous evening of the interview asking me to add some more slides regarding my background, so i do. Half way thru the interview the hiring manager alright lets stop the presentation and lets go with questions. OEE question, what is PFMEA? and then he says i will give you control of my excel perform something for me, but i couldnt control his excel. Then we go on to different projects. At the end of the call they let me know its between you and another candidate, so you should be glad you are the finalist, then at the end of the call, the hiring manager says to his boss may be we should give him an ESSAY. The essay was on a sample case study of commissioning an automated fab equipment from a vendor. I provide the essay and poof no reply from Hiring manger, HR. After two weeks of following i receive a thank you, we are going with another candidate to my follow up. If essay was the deciding factor may be they should have that at the beginning of the process? I was very much accommodating to all their requests and not even a phone call to reject me, being the finalist? I hope this helps someone else. Entire process took 7 weeks.
