Interview process for HAY. My digital interview got cancelled exactly 1 minute before scheduled start time because the recruiter "had to take a face to face interview". After a week without any contact I reach out for a rescheduled time. The recruiter says they have speak to the hiring manager since the job "might change". A month goes by and I reach out again, getting the answer that the "team has moved in a different direction" but that I am welcome to stay in touch. Easily the most unprofessional process I have been part of after seven years in e-commerce and marketing.

The process was thorough but well run. It included a phone screen, a few virtual interviews with product leaders, and a final on-site round. Conversations were conversational and focused more on how I think and approach problems rather than trick questions. The final round included multiple team members and a tour, which gave good visibility into the culture and day-to-day work. Overall, it felt like they were genuinely evaluating long-term fit, not just checking boxes. Communication was clear, though timelines required some patience.
