Entrevista
Applied for this position via ziprecruiter.com.
FIRST ROUND:
Got a call from their HR regarding scheduling an interview for this position. Asked general HR questions on phone. Asked about my availability and scheduled an interview with the director of implementation
SECOND ROUND:
Second round was telephonic interview with the director of implementation. He asked about my skills and work experience on my resume. he was pretty concise and also showed lot of interest in knowing the candidate much better. he gave me a username and password and told me that they would test me based on 10 tasks they set for the candidates.
Tasks: Omniupdate provides a link to a university test website and ask us to carry out the 10 tasks using their CMS system. Do study their required documentation well ... do not jump into the tasks directly. Each task has a link to the specific documentation that can be referred.
Few of these tasks require to convert the static regions of the website into editable regions using the omniupdate tags. There is also one server side include tag task. The tasks become harder as we move down the hirearchy. A few tasks in the end require knowledge of XML, XSLT and XPATH so do study these well.
Completing all these tasks is necessary but not compulsory. I was unable to complete all. Do try all the tasks though.
THIRD ROUND:
The Director of Implementation and the VP both took a webex interview where my desktop was shared and I was asked to step through the tasks and explain what I did. I explained the tasks which I completed but they were not upto the mark and I made some grave mistakes which they were not expecting.
FOURTH ROUND:
Selection/rejection mail from the HR. Unfortunately for me, I was rejected. I did not perform upto the mark.
THEIR EXPECTATION
- Able to preview the webpage in their system before publishing it to the www.
- The approach what we take is important. They do not expect you to complete all the questions but they do want to know what approach you take and how well you learned about the system

Pergunta 1
I would say... start working early on their tasks. Do read and understand their documentation... atleast the content part and the links provided in the tasks. It took me a lot of time and trial and error to understand what was actually needed. Do not hesitate to contact them is you don't understand something.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, XSLT is mandatory.
