I usually don’t write reviews on here, but this experience left a really poor taste in my mouth. Perhaps the biggest red flag in this conversation was the recruiter telling me that there were already candidates in the final rounds of the process for this role, when this was only my phone screen. In this comment, the recruiter also made it seem like those were their final picks and unless something happened, I wouldn’t be moving forward. This made me feel like I was totally wasting my time so needless to say when I received and email stating they wouldn’t be moving forward, I was totally unsurprised. Not only that, but the recruiter was 10 minutes late for our call without notice, and I felt like I was being rushed off the phone again at the end. Again, disregard for my time. Lastly, I felt like there was an irritation with the questions I asked about the role/company, etc, and the comment was to “check Glassdoor”, which I had. There were also other red flags in that the recruiter asked me questions about my work experience that were clearly already indicated in my resume which showed me that there was little, if any, effort to understand my qualifications for the role. Also, the recruiter pressed me for a salary range both online and during the phone screen. I was turned off by this especially not knowing the real details about the role and requirements. I asked if there was a salary range and was not given an answer. Finally I have a ballpark figure and the recruiter actually laughed and said “I thought you’d be higher”. I was really taken aback by this crass comment with such a sensitive topic. Really unprofessional remark. Overall, the impression this recruiter gave of how prospective candidates are treated me made me glad to not be moving forward with this organization.
