BE AWARE!!! This company will shame you for even applying to their advertised position. I applied for an Assistant Produce Buyer position a couple of months ago, after the initial interviews with recruiter and HR I was told that the Produce Buyer (B) will call you at a specific time. I received a call one hour late from someone who seemed to be in their retirement age, and they started the interview by telling me “Are you really applying for this position?” After I replied Yes, I am interested in the position as it is well aligned with my experience. He laughed “hahaha well ok, tell me the guy’s name that you’re currently working with?” I was like what? What do you mean? I am working with the company mentioned in my application and if you want a reference, I can provide that. He then goes like “oh hmm hahaha, anyway so you want to be a produce buyer?”. This was just rid!culous. He then explained how the job will be harder than my current job and job hours will be fluctuating regularly, and how I will not be performing produce buyer roles but will be helping in the stores, and there will not be many benefits unless I am with worker union or something. It was not an interview it was a call from someone who I don’t know is insecure of his position or have some serious issues. Seriously, if this is how you’re treating your applicants then please don’t even bother advertising your positions. Nobody wants to be insulted after spending their time and resources for applying to your company. To anyone who is considering this company as their future employer, please give it a second-thought.
