Contacted by a recruiter and invited to take online tests, then did two phone interviews. Prior to the phone interviews, I was asked to submit a long-form interview that contained several several questions that reputable sources have indicated to me may be illegal in some states. This is a huge red flag -- reputable companies should rely on the judgment of their hiring managers, which of course, would include the understanding about what you can and cannot ask a candidate.

What was your greatest incident of failure and how did you cope?
There were also questions about my parents, my spouse's parents, their occupations, what kind of car that I drive, how much the payments are, whether I pay child support or alimony ... all very creepy.
