real-world” coding challenge—often demanding to set up an API or environment on their own laptop during the interview. Many find this level of setup unrealistic for a live call and feel it might be better as a take-home.

The entire process at Motive took around 1.5 months. I went through 5 rounds: an online test, HR screening, a managerial and coding round, and a panel interview with 4 people. In the fifth and final round, I was interviewed by the manager, but surprisingly, he didn’t ask me to write any code or pose any technical questions. Yet, I was rejected at this stage. Hats off!

I applied via LinkedIn. I got a call after a week from HR and we had about 10 minutes session in which she asked some general questions regarding current role and then scheduled technical interview.
In my technical interview, the interviewer asked about current job responsibilities. It was a detailed technical interview. Mostly questions were related to API's which I think I answered well. In the end there were scenario based questions and also a question to write a program. That was it. A week later I got rejected email because my work background did not match with them which sounded kind of lame to me because whoever gets onboard with you, you will have to train them according to your product regarding how much experience resource he/she is.
I personally think that their work environment is very fast and they do not have time to train newly hired staff that is why this position is still vacant as of now which I keep seeing in LinkedIn.
I think they should change the person who interviews because they keep rejecting candidates.
