The interview process is a structured method a company uses to assess a candidate's skills, qualifications, and cultural fit for a role and typically includes stages like company research, phone screening, interviews (often multiple), potential skill assessments, and candidate evaluations

The Process:
I received a call shortly after applying for an internship role. The initial conversation was with a recruiter who asked several personal questions, including family background and who the earning members are in the household. While I understand companies may want to know if a candidate is stable, these questions felt inappropriate and unrelated to the role.
I was then scheduled for a virtual interview for a supposed executive role. The interviewer didn’t turn on their camera, asked a mix of SEO and Google Ads questions, and gave minimal context about the company or the role itself. When I asked about the working structure, I was informed it’s a strict Monday-to-Saturday schedule, with no flexibility. Learning opportunities were described as entirely self-driven with no clear training or mentorship process in place.
Later, I received a follow-up call stating I would be taken as an intern and was asked to "report to the office with my laptop" for an “observation round,” where I could try to convince HR about adjusting the workweek policy. This felt unstructured, unclear, and frankly, exploitative.
My Takeaway:
The process lacked transparency, structure, and professionalism. There was no formal offer, job description, or clarity on expectations. The casual attitude toward working hours, mentorship, and interview scheduling gives a strong impression of a high-pressure, low-support environment.
I chose not to move forward, and I recommend future candidates ask clear questions about working days, role expectations, compensation, and growth opportunities before proceeding.
