I would say it was a fairly standard interview process with two rounds. Most of the questions were circumstantial or scenario-based, so it felt more like they were assessing how I’d respond to specific situations rather than having a two-way conversation.

I applied online and was invited to an interview around 2 weeks later. The interview itself was fine, it was conducted via Zoom. The interviewer was engaging, professional and thorough. Most of the questions were typical competency based questions that you would expect for a customer service role.
I have rated my experience as negative as I received absolutely no communication from them following the interview, even after emailing them directly when I didn't hear anything. You would expect an organization of this size to be able to spare one minute to reply to an email. The company also apparently doesn't value customer service as much as they made it seem in the interview, interview candidates are also potential customers so they should know better than to ghost them.

Can you tell me about a time where you exceeded a customer's expectations?

I had:
▪️a phone interview
▪️a technical test
▪️a face-to-face with the Architect on premises
▪️ then *another* interview with the CTO and tech lead, including another tech test.
The whole process took a month due to staff holidays. I turned down another role because I thought this one was going so well!
The second interview was needlessly aggressive: lots of ‘how would you deal with this problem?’ ‘But what if THAT didn’t work? What then, EH?!’ Really weird!
They have *no* female devs in the UK. Not one. Only their contract devs in Poland have a female presence. They have no diversity monitoring (hence why it’s turned into a vanity project tech hub made up of white dudes with beards). They hand waved away my question about how they ensure a diverse team. They admitted I was the *only* woman they have interviewed.
In the end, I was turned down because, during the second tech test, I didn’t write the tests first (a faux pas) which I OWNED and apologised for. I’m not perfect and it was a legitimate goof. I wouldn’t mind but they could see from the rest of the test that it *had* been coded TDD because that’s how I normally work. One goof in over a month of commitment, jumping through hoops and good faith effort on my part.
Nope. I’m apparently not even worth a trial or a probation. Only apply if you’re a white guy and you’re a ‘rock star’. Utter waste of my time and I’ve been shown 0 respect. Everything on their terms with all the commitment coming from my side.
AVOID.
