I did a screening interview with Museo del Barrio. The HR person I spoke with was kind and friendly. He expressed excitement about me as a candidate, told me I passed to the next round, and even gave me tips on how to make a good impression in the next interview. This got my hopes up and made me feel like I had made a genuine connection with them. I was not selected to interview again with them, however, and was ghosted when I asked for feedback. I felt devalued, demoralized and confused. Next time, don't tell candidates they passed to the next round when you are not sure or do not have the power to make those statements. And if you do but something happens, a personal note would go a long way.
