Easy and quick interview. The longest part of the hiring process seems to be the background check. However, that may be due to the fact that I have lived in several states

The interview process consisted of my going to the building about three separate times to get all of my information submitted. Marie Mullinax interviewed me at the time. She just wanted me to answer a few questions and give her a copy of my CNA certificate.

Entrevista
Was subject to an initial brief 8 min phone interview. Per phone interviewers request. I was also scheduled for a personal interview which was initially conducted by 1 person then interjected and questioned by an additional 2 more people in one sitting. Then saw an additional person for follow up questions per their prompting. In person interview was roughly 1 hr. Interview went well. I was contacted very quickly and offered the position based on passing a background check. Was informed that I passed the background check and was requested to submit to a vaccine and test as condition of employment. I followed thru immediately. I was given a formal start date. I was later called, and asked if I could start earlier which I agreed to.
A day before the agreed start date. I received a call by the person that hired me. Informing me the job offer was rescinded as they could not bring me on board due to low census, a hiring freeze, and or budget concerns. Was quite stunned and later, found the position still advertised as two different positions.
My take: Why not be honest from the start. Why the deceptive practices. I have no issues showing up to an interview and not being offered a job because I don't fit the bill. This is fine. But to have this happen to anyone is not correct. My sense: Company does not make sure they have all their ducks in a row before contacting you.
So one can deduce one of twe following: A) They changed their mind to on me for the position but at the last minute. B) Company is messing with people and working some sort of campaign to appear to hire but cannot and does this on frequent?
C) They are working experiments while hiring with these positions
