Submitted application for IRTA fellowship online through the NIH website. Contacted people I was interested in working with at specific labs, then followed up with those who were interested in my application and came for one in-person interview.

I don't remember any particularly difficult questions.
Very comprehensive and inclusive. People were able to balance technical questions about my previous work with broader questions about what motivates me and my career interests. It did not feel difficult at all.
Make sure you are interested in the topic and you do your research on the lab before applying! I had a great experience and interview with these things in mind

not too hard, asked about experiences, talked with lab members, had a couples problems they wanted to run through with me, very nice and got back as soon as possible.
