Phone screen interview to determine who would be selected for an in-person panel interview. About one week later I received a generic email stating that HR had reviewed my application and I wasn't a good fit, etc. I don't expect a personal phone call from the hiring manager after a phone interview, but a direct email from the HR recruiter would be nice. Generic emails after someone has already done an interview is rude and unprofessional.
