I went through two on-site interview rounds, both of which were pleasant and well-run. The interviewers were professional, open, and generous with their time, and there was meaningful discussion around the role and expectations. Unfortunately, the experience deteriorated after the interviews concluded. Despite multiple polite follow-ups via email and mobile, there was no response or closure from the recruiter. This was disappointing, particularly after the time invested on both sides. It was even more disappointing coming from one HR professional to another, as timely communication and basic candidate closure are fundamental principles of good people practice. Even a brief update or rejection would have been appreciated and would have reflected greater respect for candidates’ time and effort. While I appreciated the quality of the on-site interviews and the people I met, the lack of post-interview communication detracts from an otherwise positive interview experience.
