After my initial application there was a phone interview with the COO which lasted about an hour. I was then invited to the office to meet with the creative director who I met with for about 40 minutes or so. So far so good, and I was shown around and introduced to other members of the creative team. It was at this point I noticed the entire creative team was male. This on and off itself is not unusual but, for a company that identifies itself as green and forward thinking that aims to market to women mellenials it is a bit odd. After being introduced to the team I was ushered into the COO's office where I was asked what I thought about the job, I responded positively, and it was agreed that I would be sent a test ( not unusual for my job). What was unusual was that the test never arrived and then when I reached out I was told the creative director had heard from a friend that he used to work with that would be getting the job and they no longer needed me to test for the position. So my issue lay with the fact that they were never going to follow up with me until I reached out regarding the agreed upon next step. They had hoped I would fade away or accept that I was being passed over due to favoritism and perhaps latent sexual discrimination.
