Participated in five total interviews. Began with HR, advanced to meeting with the hiring manager, team members, the hiring manager again, and concluded with 1:1 interviews with three members of the Executive Leadership Team.
Communications by HR up to that point were proactive and their team was responsive. Following the final meeting with members of the ELT, I didn't hear anything for a week, which was out of character. I assumed at that point I was out of the running yet wrote to check in and express my continued interest in the role and inquire about status. The HR contact promptly wrote back stating the hiring manager hadn't decided yet but they would let me know ASAP either way.
The next week, the job post was taken down and I haven't heard a single peep.
It was, admittedly, stunning to be ghosted whilst interviewing for an AVP level position and interfacing with members of the ELT. Just bizarre. Yet the silence speaks volumes about the character of the company and how their path to maturity needs more time and further refinement.
Notably, when asked about their approach to strategic planning and what the process entailed they admitted the MHFA business function didn't have one. And yes, I am bummed! The mission of the mental health first aid program is admirable and they're rapidly innovating, investing, and partnering to expand services in response to the staggering mental health crisis in the country. I wish them all the best!
