After 9 months of invasive background checks, long polygraph tests (3 hours) and an extremely personal psych evaluation, they told me I was ineligible to work for them because I did not qualify for security clearance. This was due to my "foreign contacts." Namely, my Iranian roommate who just got his US citizenship.
