I was contacted for an interview after applying on Indeed. The recruiter called me at the scheduled time but was completely unprepared for the interview. You could tell they were reading my resume for the first time and then asking questions after every pause.
I had to repeat myself multiple times because they were not paying close attention to what I was saying. They set me up for an in-person interview with the general manager of the warehouse.
I was advised that I had to bring MY OWN safety vest, safety shoes, and hard hat to the interview. I wanted the job. Luckily, I had safety shoes from my current job. I ordered a hat and vest from Amazon. It was unheard of.
The GM interview was terrible. He was also unprepared, reading my resume for the first time. He even questioned why my current company hired me since I didn't have industry experience prior to them. He then took me to the warehouse and showed me around.
I was told I would hear something by week's end. It was two weeks. I emailed them at week 1 and received no response. At week two's email, I received the response they passed on me.
I am not sure I would have taken the job if offered. Requiring a candidate to bring proper safety equipment to an interview is wild. They should be suppling those to any people coming onto site.
