The process was very lengthy and drawn out. I first had a phone screening with the recruiter followed but another phone screening with the hiring manager. Both very pleasant. Next steps was an on-site interview with 7 individuals. in a span of 3 hours. Each interview ranged from 15 to 30 minutes. Questions were repeated and it felt like I was answering the same questions over and over. Following the on-site, I was scheduled for one more phone screening and another on-site (interviews #10 and #11). After interview #10 and before interview #11, I received a voice message from the recruiter extending an offer with a salary, target bonus, and start date. The voice message also indicated that an offer letter would be emailed to me. I was thrilled so I tried calling the recruiter and reached voice message but followed up with an email. Recruiter responded saying that they extended the offer by mistake and that interview #11 will still be taking place. A few hours before the final on-site interview, I received an email that the interview was cancelled with an apology for the "incontinence." (Exact word used in the email but I digress) I followed up with the recruiter to see if they were able to reschedule the interview but never heard back. More than a week had passed until I heard back from the recruiter who told me they went with another candidate. Generally, the experience was unusually lengthy at 11 rounds, but I understand each organization has various requirements. I also think recruiting could have been a bit more organized and have better word choices when apologizing for an erroneous offer to the wrong candidate.
