General questions about experience followed by assessmentThe interview process typically begins with an application and a review of your qualifications. If selected, you might be invited to complete a written test assessing your editing skills. Following this, there is often an interview with the editorial team to discuss your experience. Entrevista
After I completed the application, I had to complete a subbing exercise with a specific deadline. Next, I was invited to the first round of interviews, which lasted approximately 30 minutes. The interview panel included the Chief Sub-Editor and an Editor, both of whom were very friendly. This round primarily focused on getting to know me better, understanding my career goals, and assessing whether my aspirations aligned with the goals of New Scientist. The second round of interviews was competency-based and also lasted about 30 minutes. I, unfortunately, did not get an offer but the whole process took about 4-5 weeks in total.
