Applied online, then the company executive invited me to do a 1-on-1 video interview. No difficult/technical questions were asked, but the tone was a bit intense and interrogating for a first round interview. Despite this, I was given positive feedback during the call, told I would be a good fit for the role, and was even asked what my avails were for further video interviews & an in-person office visit. Didn't hear anything for a couple of weeks, then got a rejection. After reflecting on this process, I see several red flags. In the interview, I was told that the company is essentially divided into two separate businesses: Marvel work (this team is mostly remote) and Real Estate work (in the office 4-5 days a week). Might be worth knowing, as this was not in the job description. Also not included in the job description was the salary range, which is against the law in NJ in 2025! In the interivew, when I asked what the range was, was told that it hadn't been decided yet. Red flag! That was definitely a first for me. Based on this interview process, I get the impression that I'd be micromanaged, overworked, and underpaid if I joined this company.
