To start with, Tonie's professionalism during recruitment was second to none. The professionalism continued with the HR team, led by Tori, who answered any inquiries promptly and with sufficient detail. This continued for weeks, as interviews these days do take longer to organize, but as a person who has had the job of interviewing and hiring several people over the years, I was thoroughly impressed. Their diligent, smart questions and topics we discussed covered a lot of areas, and with very little repetition. First there was a cognitive test, this is timed but you are doing this on your own time and they gave me plenty of time so I didn't have to rush (you should never rush these tests anyway). I thought it was a fair test, although I'd love to know what score I received, it must have been good because I moved on to the next stage. The face-to-face interviews were all remote over zoom, there were no hiccups with that. I met the hiring manager first, Ashiq gave me great vibes right from the start. The next session was a pair interview with 2 other QA Eng managers, who are already doing the role I was interviewing for. The 3rd in-person interview was with a Lead QA, Nova asked some of the best questions tailored toward the role I was interviewing for, which shows me good preparation skills. There was a 4th in-person, paired interview with team members, a QA and one of the Developers, both well-prepared and professional, asking more significant questions. The final interview was with 3 of the Development leadership team, which can be intimidating, but they made me feel comfortable so I was able to relax and think through my answers. Throughout every interview stage, I got more and more excited at the opportunity to work at Nextech. In a day and age where I have heard and experienced some not-so-good recruiting and interviewing stories, it's refreshing when you are treated with respect and professionalism. I can't wait to get started!
