The interview process is pretty straight forward and has 3 steps. If they like your resume, they send you the first step which is a 20 minute timed questionnaire and opportunity to upload a 1 minute video. It contains 6 hypothetical scenarios and you are supposed to respond as if you are speaking to a client. Once you complete this, you have to upload a 1 min. video explaining the two qualities you think are most important to being a Noom coach (untimed). The second interview will be a 45 minute mock coaching session with a Noom coach who is role playing as a middle-aged female user named Sam. They will email you literally everything you need to know before the session; their expectations, techniques they want you to use, qualities they look for in coaches, etc. Noom uses Motivational Interviewing (MI), specifically the OARS approach, and they expect you to already be familiar with these techniques and use them in the mock session. I researched MI/OARS before my interview and took notes, and this made the mock session really easy for me. The objective is to get "Sam" to set her first weekly goal. You have to be flexible and meet the user where they are, not tell them what to do. The idea is to use MI to get "Sam" to come up with ideas herself. I was able to help her set a goal of drinking more water. The third interview is a Zoom call where you will be asked questions about your past work experience (i.e. "Tell me about a time when you...") and other general interview questions. Don't forget to prepare your own questions to ask the interviewer! Overall this process was very easy and I felt good about the communication I received from Noom throughout. They tell you EXACTLY what they are looking for, so as long as you read all the info they send you and prepare ahead of time, you shouldn't have any problems.

This was a multi-step application/interview process, including application, recorded video introduction, mock coaching session and Zoom interview, all completed within a week and a half. The mock coaching session focused on delivering Motivational Interviewing skills with a hypothetical client. The Zoom interview focused on questions about past work/life experiences - "When was a time that you received constructive criticism and had to incorporate the feedback into your work?" *Please note - all correspondence from Noom came into my inbox except for the offer itself, which was filtered into my Promotions folder.
