I went in to the downtown Portland Nordstrom in the early afternoon. I waited in a room, smiled at any incoming person. Waited a good 30 minutes passed my original interview time before someone came out and asked me what my name was. I had told them, in which they went back into a room and came out later telling me I was actually rescheduled for a later date, but they were going to see if they could "squeeze me in". I was never informed of the rescheduled date. Again, I waited about another 15 minutes or so, before the same lady came out and told me to follow her inside a large room with a small table and two chairs. Through this process she just asked me general interview questions, like why Nordstrom, dealing with difficult customers, etc. and then proceeded to ask me if I had any days were I couldn't work. Then, she took me in a different room and handed me over to a woman who wanted me to sell her this garment. There was a rack of clothes next to her, and she gave me a scenario of a woman needing an outfit for a rooftop party. I went through the rack of clothes, found something that I felt fitted the description (even though I thought the majority of the clothes were really ugly), and proceeded to sell her the blouse and made sure to include the Nordstrom card during my "fake" sale. The woman seemed really impressed with me and I had a feeling she wanted me to work in her department, because her store was not my top three choices but she had asked if I was willing to work at other locations, in which I replied with of course! I left the interview feeling extremely good, and was for sure thinking I got it. I waited a whole month before I heard anything from them. They had left me a message on my phone telling me to call them back, in which it took a good few days of playing phone tag with this women before I finally got a hold of her. She told me thank you so much for applying to Nordstrom, but I wasn't going to be considered any further and thanked me for being interested, and if I wanted to apply as a sales associate I could. Overall, I would have preferred them to just send me a generic email instead of making me play phone tag with this women for a whole week, just to get a rejection. I also thought it was a little unprofessional that they rescheduled my interview without informing me of doing so, until literally the day of.

Great!! It wasn’t too difficult at all the interview process was super smooth it was on higher view so it was virtual which I had never done but it definitely was a good change that I needed and it was great experience.
