This is my experience of how the hiring process went. Essentially, the interview never took place. During the first meeting, the HR person sent an email a few minutes before we were supposed to start and said he will be running late. I waited hours by the computer and there was no response. He never got back. After reaching out to reschedule, a week later the HR person apologised and said that he had gone on vacation and agreed to reschedule another meeting. On the second meeting, he cancelled it a few minutes before it was supposed to start. Finally, they stated the vacancy has been filled in-house after prompted. In conclusion, a bad experience and shows the unprofessionalism on the company's part. The lack of respect for other people's time is appalling. If you're unsure whether you're opening the position externally, there is no need to give candidates a run around. A simple no, we're no longer hiring from the beginning is more than suffice.
